If I had to describe Chris and Laura using one word it would be adventurous.
They wanted to wait until May for their engagement session in hopes of better weather and Mother Nature had been cooperating…until that morning. True to Michigan form I woke up to a blizzard outside my window. Thankfully by the time we met up at the Detroit Riverwalk the sun was starting to peek out from behind the clouds. Chris and Laura braved the windy cold temperatures (and even a few snow flakes!) taking full advantage of all the opportunities to snuggle up with each other. During our adventure through the streets of Detroit I kept the car running with the heat blasting which helped in between stops. Once I would say “we’re good here back to car” Laura didn’t hesitate to take off like a flash of lighting leaving Chris to try and catch up! So when we found ourselves just outside of Atwater Brewery it only made sense to go in to warm up with a beer. We hung out there for a while talking about their upcoming wedding at their home in Commerce Township on the water. From the sounds of it they have put a lot of hard work into their yard to make it perfect for the big day.
The thing I enjoyed most about working with Chris and Laura, besides the obvious love they share, were the stories they had to tell. They are adventurers to the core. They love to travel together and I loved listening to them talk about deep sea kayaking off the coast of New Zealand so close to dolphins, sea lions, and Orca! I am honored to be able to capture the beginning of their biggest adventure yet. Congratulations Chris and Laura!
