Chef Adam Hightower

Apr 11

I received a call from an interior designer for some photos that they could hang in an upcoming restaurant they were designing. Originally they wanted portrait type shot with some creative edge to them. I personally was hoping to do more “on location” shots. Chef Adam Hightower (you can read an old interview with him here) recently moved back to the Detroit area to help start up a new restaurant. I’m told it will be called “Gastronomy” but I could not find a site online so keep your eyes peeled for it. Once Adam and I started shooting we discussed working in another location because we were both on the same page as to what we would have liked to do for this shoot.
Adam suggested  heading over to Schoolcraft College culinary arts department where he received his education. They had an amazing facility there and it allowed us to get some great images that you may end up seeing in the new restaurant once it opens.

Is that Ken from “Ken & Barbie”? Talk about action shots: no food, flour on a cutting board, a bottle of liquor sitting next to the burner?!!?! Shazam!!! I’ll bet there’s a mouse hiding in that hat.
